What We’re Excited About This Summer

Of all the seasons, summer can feel like the most uninspiring when it comes to style. You spend much of your time on the beach (or at least dreaming about it), and on top of everything, it’s hot, so no complex feats of layering like you do in the winter.

But summer is the time when travels are undertaken, when romances are born or rekindled. So here are some of our favorite new products to keep your style inspiration burning all summer long.

Suits and Sportcoats

Our cotton suits give you everything you’d want in a summer suit: breathable fabric, light colors, and versatility for dressing up or down. We’re especially excited about our new Gingham Soft Suit — a first for us — which comes half-lined with a soft shoulder, side vents and rare pleated patch pockets.

If you’re looking for performance to get you through the sweltering days, our Performance Cotton Suits are like your favorite chinos made into a suit, but with wrinkle resistance that will keep you looking pressed and polished all day. Their one-button closure also makes them great for summer weddings.

In sportcoats, we have four soft coats this season with an easy construction (half-lined and minimal shoulder padding) for a casual vibe. Each tailored of lightweight fabrics that breathe as the weather heats up.

Finally, we’d be remiss if we failed to mention our seersucker suit separates. Nothing screams summer quite like seersucker (except maybe madras, and we’ve got plenty of that, too), and actively encourage our separates to be worn, well, separate. Pair the jacket with khakis or white trousers, and the suit pants with a polo shirt and our Italian Leather and Canvas Loafer.

Trousers

Our favorite trouser this season is a delightful twist on an old staple. We took traditional oxford cloth, most often used for button down dress shirts, and made some of the softest trousers you’ll ever wear. The Cotton Oxford Trouser comes plain or pleated, in sky blue, white and yellow, perfect for outdoor summer parties.

Dress Shirts

Longtime Paul Fredrick customers know we’re the go-to place for dress shirts, and their expectations are high. We enjoy being challenged, and this summer are excited to  offer one of the most colorful product lines in years, dedicated to summer-appropriate colors combined with patterns ranging from classic to bold.  Check out our pink, lavender, and melon dress shirts.

Sport Shirts and Knits

For casual office situations as well as sun-soaked weekends, you can’t do better than our highly varied range of short-sleeved shirts. Have a look at our new piqué polo shirts with contrast trim, and updated v-neck with polo collar and contrast raglan sleeves.

For a long-sleeved option, we took one of summer’s most archetypal fabrics — seersucker — and used it for a range of brightly striped shirts (including a stunning patchwork “fun” shirt), all with seersucker’s legendary breathing qualities.

Fun in the Sun

Finally, what would summer be without the right accessories? Our Italian Leather Fisherman Sandals will serve you all summer long, whether or not you go fishing or visit Italy. For sun protection with style, our hat offerings include linen caps, Lite Felt wool, traditional Panamas, and the casual new Seagrass Stingy Brim Fedora and Jute Pre-Snap Fedora. And don’t forget the shades, like our Sunglass Readers.

Pair them all with our Embroidered Anchor Shorts and a navy silk/cotton crew (watch out: the nautical look is big this year) and sail off into another great summer.
