‘Tis the Season to be Snazzy: Holiday Pairings

It’s that time of year when you’ll be heading out to family dinners, holiday parties, and perhaps even charity events or other special affairs. No matter what the occasion, you’ll want to look your best, so we’ve gathered some pairings of our men’s shirts, ties, and jackets to help you put forward your finest impression during the holiday season.

Modern Tradition

JA1519AEvery man needs a good blazer, and this wool, six-on-two double-breasted travel design fits the bill handsomely, with classic metal buttons that enhance the jacket’s style without drawing attention away from the overall look. While a traditionalist might go for the darker navy blue or black, the gray option is appropriate for just about every holiday event you’re likely to encounter, from business gatherings to more casual soirees. Matched with a bold woven silk tie in red, white, or green and a cotton dress shirt, you’ll present an appearance that lets you transition from professional to partier in no time flat.

Old World to New Year

JHJ420DTartan originated from ancient Celtic clan designs, and it’s still trending today. A plaid, double-breasted
wool sport coat may be the best way to show off your seasonal spirit, especially one that incorporates
traditional holiday colors. Add a red Italian silk tie decorated with wreaths, a white cotton dress shirt with French cuffs, and some enamel peppermint cufflinks to really spruce up the holiday vibe. Before you know it, you’ll be getting plenty of offers to spend some time beneath a sprig of mistletoe.

Unique Cheer

JHJ530D_401Maybe the usual holiday colors aren’t your thing – and that’s okay. A double-breasted sport coat flaunting an updated version of the time-honored glen plaid pattern using blue and gold will help you stand out in a room full of traditional undertones. Let your bold side shine through even more with a medium-stripe cotton shirt, a daring woven gold paisley tie, and a blue Italian silk pocket square to finish it off. Even though you might not be wearing the expected colors, everyone will know you’re all about being merry.

  1. My question is does Paul Fredrick carry a button down white or blue shirt with French cuffs……Adam of London was the only place I’ve seen them but they are too slim fitting.

    Thank you John

  2. It is customary for the collar to match the cuff, which is why we do not offer French cuffs with a button down collar. We do offer custom made dress shirts, which would allow you to select this option.
